You can wear slippers (flip flops) as long as they're "pretty."
Some things I noticed and learned while shopping and walking around with my aunt yesterday:
-No shopping malls in Korea, they have what they call 'department stores.' Typically each floor is designated to something different - ie. first floor has makeup and jewelry, second floor has shoes, third floor is the food court, etc. There are clothes and other stuff but the main item dominates the floor.
-No matter when you bought your shoes, you can take them back and get them repaired for free. I think that's pretty awesome. If my shoes break, I'll send them to my aunt to get them fixed :).
-The food court is so different from what we know. It's not a bunch of different chains (although there are such). You pay for what you want at a register in the middle of the room and then go pick up your food at the station. They also use real dishes and utensils that people have to wash.
-There are water coolers everywhere, in every building. Free water!
-The bathrooms in homes I've been in have movable shower heads and people shower on the floor. There's a drain on the floor and they just shower (not in a tub or shower booth) even if the sink and toilet gets all wet.
-They also use body scrubbers that fit like hand covers to scrub off dirt and sweat that doesn't come off with just soap and water.
Transformers 2 was a kick-ass movie. The final battle was a little anti-climatic but I'm guessing it's because they want to have the option of make a third movie.
