Last night I visited the fortune-telling place again to meet up with some of my friends. I decided to do the tarot card reading again since it was a new lady. She was a lot more detailed. I picked from one of five decks and apparently I picked the deck that was a little scary. True enough, the graphics were gnomish and kind of dark. The deck picked is supposed to tell something of the situation you're asking about or your personality. My friend picked a different deck than I did and she said for him he wanted a solution that would be the simplest and most comfortable, which was true.
Anyway, I asked the same question I did yesterday just to see if the results would line up. The results were the same basically: to get over it and avoid pursuing any sort of romantic interest [relative to the situation in mind]. However, because she was more detailed she had a bunch of different cards for things. I had two puppet cards and several devilish cards and she basically said that meant that the person in question had not-so-innocent intentions and he's basically having fun with the situation and seeing me when he wants to see me and stuff. She said if I try to pursue anything or even if that person comes to me and wants to pursue something, I shouldn't because it wouldn't be entirely genuine.
There was more to it but I don't want to go into too much detail on a public blog.
This morning my friend Christine and I got up earlier than usual so we could print our papers for class. We went to the Xavier building first but apparently the computer room didn't open until 9 (we went at like 8), so we went back to the dorm, ate breakfast and chilled in our rooms until about 8:50. Instead of going back to Xavier we waited for the bookstore to open because you can print stuff there. However, the people there said the printing station didn't open until 11am (and it was about 9:05am). We went back to Xavier and were trying to figure out how to print (everything was in Windows Vista Microsoft Word format in Korean) and when I finally figured it out, our papers didn't come out. The guy said we had to buy our own paper.
Frustrated, we emailed our papers in but because we were already late to class (technically starts at 9:10am and it was 9:20), we decided we should at least have something to show for our tardiness. So we go back to the bookstore and buy a small ream of paper, go back to Xavier and print our papers. By the time we got to class it was 9:40.
Definitely worked up a little sweat this morning and burned off our breakfast. I did write a few poems in class today (while half-listening to people read poems out loud). They're all basically first drafts.
-Untitled (as of now)-
Dizzy, turning round and round
silent corpses zooming by
Dizzy, I stop and see nothing
but tall trees that loom over me
Shiny and symmetrical, I can see my face in their trunks
but it's dark.
Two straight lines, guiding the path of the
corpses. Laughing. Frowning.
Dizzy, I keep going
through the dark, solid jungle
Inside I can see more
corpses. Eating. Drinking.
Dizzy, I squint because the jungle is bright
Signs and stores all lit up.
I turn round and round
the corpses are fading.
Dizzy, I close my eyes.
-Count to Ten-
Me.
You too.
Now it's us.
We walk on paths,
roads worn through, beyond death
and towards the next, new life
At the gate we have to stop
Grains of sand still left, not time yet
Hand-in-hand, we sit on the stone steps
'Til the clock starts to chime, we count to ten.
I had a set pattern in mind when I wrote this one, but I haven't yet decided if I want to make exceptions for certain lines just so it makes more sense. We'll see.
-The band on my finger-
This band, gently wrapping my finger in its embrace,
feels cold against my skin.
It desires to be like silver,
trying to catch the sunlight and sparkle
Simple and plain, except for a carving;
A declaration of love, because words are not enough
Too many empty promises...?
The day is warm, the band
now heating up against my skin
I take it off.
Now I have to do some vocabulary homework before Korean class. FML.
